The room was nice, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. Meals were provided each day and, as dishes are prepared fresh, you get to choose in advance from a menu each time, which ensures enough variety. Local dishes are really tasty. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Value for money is excellent. I organised a couple of excursions through Koimala - special mention for Ripon, who made extra effort to ensure I got to swim with whale sharks. I had a really magical experience after he spotted another whale shark when we were on our way back to port and our small group got to swim alone with it for a few minutes before other boats turned up.

The bikini beach is a 10-15minute walk away which feels long in the heat, but it isn’t too bad.

Everything was perfect! Clean, bright rooms, large terrace with palm trees and other equatorial plants, particularly tasty food, well-located location, interesting excursions and very welcoming and helpful staff in making transfers to the island. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly those who like exotic nature and want to enjoy the hospitality specific to the inhabitants of the Maldives!

This is a great place to stay if you wish to visit the Maldives on a budget. The hotel was clean and the staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable . The room was clean with good a/c and cable tv. The bathroom and shower also good. The food was very nice with a menu to suit all palates. You’d pre-order your meal and reserve eating time. This ensured you had freshly prepared food with little waiting. They even delivered lunch to the beach if needed or provided a packed lunch for excursions. A ‘bikini beach’ was a short walk. Since this is a residential island, Muslim rules apply, so no sunbathing in your cozzy unless on a designated bikini beach. No alcohol and when walking around town, it’s best to dress conservatively. Our reservation included a free excursion - turtle safari. We snorkelled along the reef and saw a plethora of tropical fish, a giant clam, a turtle and even baby shark (don’t worry mum and dad were no where near!). Then had lunch on a small deserted island and stayed for sunbathing and exploring. It was great fun and relaxing too. The hotel ran this trip and refreshingly, we weren’t pestered to buy photos or videos. In fact the staff shared their personal photos and videos FOC which was lovely. The hotel can arrange the transfers to/from the island. The plane takes 45mins or the speedboat takes just over 2 hours on a good day. It’s worth stressing, both methods of transport are not in the hotels control. Our experience of the speedboat to the hotel was tricky. The departure times changed several times with little notice due to the weather conditions. If you have no Wi-Fi, these changes cannot be passed to you. Our boat changed from 2pm to 3pm and at last minute it was 1pm. We rushed to the departure point for 12:40 but couldn’t find any boat for Maamigili. We were later told that it had left at 12:30 so we missed it. We finally boarded a boat at 17:30.

The property is situated in the centre of the island. Very close to harbour and local beech. The property is clean and the rooms are spacious. The staff do all that they can to help you. We stayed only two nights and they arranged tours for us and we loved. Genuinely you will not get a better, more personal experience anywhere else.

Breakfast and dinner are both very tasty and with a choice of menus to suit your tastes. The staff is friendly and reliable.

Our vacation at the Koimala hotel was very pleasant.The staff is really friendly and always available. They help with everything and also organize excursions according to your wishes. Our room was quite big and equipped with air conditioning, small fridge and tv. The room was always cleaned well as well as other facilities in the hotel. The food in Koimala hotel is delicious and there are many options on the menu. There is no buffet, you can choose what you eat from the menu. In summary, we had everything we needed on our vacation. I can't find anything to complain about and I warmly recommend Koimala hotel.

We had an amazing time here. We knew Koimala was not a resort holiday and it exceeded our expectations. We thought Koimala was very well organised. Every meal was delicious, the beds were comfortable, the excursions well organised and unforgettable. We saw so much in the sea during the snorkelling trips. We went for walks and cycles around the island and felt safe. Special thank you to Rippon for looking after us! We hope to return one day.

Perfect location on the island. Boat trip from Male is about 3hrs, good to plan ahead and now the boat schedule to fit in your journey ;). Super friendly and supporting staff to help with everything and activities to plan during your stay.

Location is perfect in local island. Staff is super friendly and like to help you with everything. Booking.com was having issues and our booking was overbooked and staff did help to find a solution to stay. They have options for breakfast, and if you like you can have lunch (to go) and eat dinner in Koimala. Beach is on walking distance, there are multiple trips to book for day activities. Recommendations is a resort day visit in Amaya Kadu Rah resort. Good value and amazing to indulge yourself if you like ;)

Communication about boat trip and overbooking took a lot of time to solve. In the end the staff was 100% there to help and find solutions. It will help if you have a local sim or goos wifi to reach them by phone, so they can help you. Hotel and staff I don’t have any complaints. Good value for money!

We stayed 2 nights at Koimala Hotel and would like to thank everyone for a great & professional & friendly service: Rifath, Ripon, Michela and all the smiling staff! We booked the room with excursion and were so happy about it. Beautiful snorkeling and Island visit with lunch. We saw many sharks, a group of Eagle rays that stayed around the beach where we had lunch for hours, and a lot of fishes of all kind. Would definitely book again. We also had dinner at the guesthouse terrace, beautifully decorated and with many nice plants. Absolutely recommended! We hope to see you again soon!

The atmosphere was very chill and welcoming. It felt tropical and secluded. The beach is about a 5 minute walk away and it was clean and beautiful. The staff were super friendly and always helped us with our luggage. The food was AMAZING and very affordable. The dining area has a great vibe with open air and palm trees. There Are are also lots of places to lounge and relax.

Mosquitoes. I wish there was better mosquitoe repellant around the dining area. Also our bathroom never had a dry floor after a shower because it didn't drain properly. The refrigerator didn't work all the time because the power went out to the plug.

We had the pleasure to stay at the Dravida Hotel instead of the Koimala Hotel and it was amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and nourishing. The rooms are contemporary and clean. In this hotel, you will be treated well 100%.

This was truly good experience. The hotel is clean, well looking, towels and bedsheets are always clean, food is delicious and fresh, juices is amazing, stuff is friendly and very polite. You will also have free Netflix access there! And the biggest pearl in this hotel is guy who working there, his name is Ripon. You only make a wish... And you will get it! Location is good, like almost in the middle of this small and beautiful island. Me and my wife stay there for 6 nights, and our stay included 3 meals per day and 1 free ride to amazing small island, for half a day, where we can be absolutely alone with ocean, white sand and palm trees. You can also buy different kind of excursions from them, they will absolutely take care of you! I definitely recommend this hotel!

The staff were very helpful and friendly, they arranged free pick-ups and drop offs to and from the airport as well as organising internal flights. It is possible to go out on the boat every day, snorkelling on coral reefs with turtles, having lunch on an island (cooked over a fire), searching for whale sharks & manta rays & then snorkelling above them. This helped the guests get to know each other so it was very friendly. Ripon is your guide on the boat and is absolutely brilliant- he did his best to get everyone to see the animals we were searching for and helping those that weren’t such strong swimmers. Then he might whip up lunch over a fire on the beach! Great guy and tremendous fun

Very nice guesthouse with exceptional service. Every wish is fulfilled. The Room + Bathroom was large, spacious and very clean. I would come back anytime.The Employee are always very friendly.
