Exceptional

Everything was perfect! Clean, bright rooms, large terrace with palm trees and other equatorial plants, particularly tasty food, well-located location, interesting excursions and very welcoming and helpful staff in making transfers to the island. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly those who like exotic nature and want to enjoy the hospitality specific to the inhabitants of the Maldives!

The staff treats you like royalty

The staff are 1A, always smiling at you, always ready at service. We stayed in their “Dravida building” and the food was delicious. We even went out to some restaurants just to try something different and they were no where near to the taste and quality of what we got at the hotel.

Internet can sometimes be slow but there was a storm happening when we were there so I’m sure this is not usual when weather conditions are normal

Comfortable, welcoming and great value for money

The room was nice, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and good air conditioning. Meals were provided each day and, as dishes are prepared fresh, you get to choose in advance from a menu each time, which ensures enough variety. Local dishes are really tasty. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Value for money is excellent. I organised a couple of excursions through Koimala - special mention for Ripon, who made extra effort to ensure I got to swim with whale sharks. I had a really magical experience after he spotted another whale shark when we were on our way back to port and our small group got to swim alone with it for a few minutes before other boats turned up.

The bikini beach is a 10-15minute walk away which feels long in the heat, but it isn’t too bad.

We had an amazing time here. We knew Koimala was not a resort holiday and it exceeded our expectations. We thought Koimala was very well organised. Every meal was delicious, the beds were comfortable, the excursions well organised and unforgettable. We saw so much in the sea during the snorkelling trips. We went for walks and cycles around the island and felt safe. Special thank you to Rippon for looking after us! We hope to return one day.

Great stay, super friendly staff, close to everything easy access.

Close to everything, the island is also small and Koimala is located right in the middle. You can walk to everywhere very easily and the staff can also help with buggy or scooter to transfer but everything is within 5 minutes away. Staff is super nice and friendly and food is also good. They always ask if you need any food in advance and if it’s later they can help order delivery food. They take care of you very well during your stay. We also had some excursions included in our stay which was very nice saw turtles and private island snorkel. Picture with this review is a real picture not one pulled from the internet. So very beautiful to see turtles in their natural habitat. Can definitely recommend if you’re looking for a local guesthouse.

Just the temperature in the room could still be a bit warm even with AC.

Dravida Hotel exceeded all our expectations and made our Maldives experience unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and ensured every detail of our stay was taken care of. They organized seamless transportation for us from Male to Maamigili, which made our journey stress-free and enjoyable. They went above and beyond by arranging a fantastic day trip to the nearby Amaya Kuda Rah Resort—an experience we’ll treasure forever! The rooms were spotless, luxurious, and beautifully designed, with breathtaking ocean views. The food was absolutely delicious, featuring a variety of local and international dishes that catered to every palate. The staff showed unparalleled generosity, constantly checking in to ensure we were comfortable and happy. Their respectful and kind demeanor truly touched our hearts—every interaction was a delight. The hotel also provided personalized recommendations for local activities, making sure we got the most out of our stay. Dravida Hotel feels like a home away from home. I wish I could repay each staff member individually for their kindness and hospitality. God bless them all for the amazing work they do! We’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting the Maldives

Koimala service up there with the best.

The property is situated in the centre of the island. Very close to harbour and local beech. The property is clean and the rooms are spacious. The staff do all that they can to help you. We stayed only two nights and they arranged tours for us and we loved. Genuinely you will not get a better, more personal experience anywhere else.

The hotel is situated in a central area, with several shops nearby. Because of my birthday I got a free room upgrade and decoration, thanks to the manager. He also organised some trips, and thanks to the staff they were wonderfull. Food was great too.

Great place to stay if visiting Maldives on a budget

This is a great place to stay if you wish to visit the Maldives on a budget. The hotel was clean and the staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable . The room was clean with good a/c and cable tv. The bathroom and shower also good. The food was very nice with a menu to suit all palates. You’d pre-order your meal and reserve eating time. This ensured you had freshly prepared food with little waiting. They even delivered lunch to the beach if needed or provided a packed lunch for excursions. A ‘bikini beach’ was a short walk. Since this is a residential island, Muslim rules apply, so no sunbathing in your cozzy unless on a designated bikini beach. No alcohol and when walking around town, it’s best to dress conservatively. Our reservation included a free excursion - turtle safari. We snorkelled along the reef and saw a plethora of tropical fish, a giant clam, a turtle and even baby shark (don’t worry mum and dad were no where near!). Then had lunch on a small deserted island and stayed for sunbathing and exploring. It was great fun and relaxing too. The hotel ran this trip and refreshingly, we weren’t pestered to buy photos or videos. In fact the staff shared their personal photos and videos FOC which was lovely. The hotel can arrange the transfers to/from the island. The plane takes 45mins or the speedboat takes just over 2 hours on a good day. It’s worth stressing, both methods of transport are not in the hotels control. Our experience of the speedboat to the hotel was tricky. The departure times changed several times with little notice due to the weather conditions. If you have no Wi-Fi, these changes cannot be passed to you. Our boat changed from 2pm to 3pm and at last minute it was 1pm. We rushed to the departure point for 12:40 but couldn’t find any boat for Maamigili. We were later told that it had left at 12:30 so we missed it. We finally boarded a boat at 17:30.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the whaleshark excursion. The airport pickup was smooth and well-coordinated. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and we would love to return!

Service was super, food was amazing everyday. They are specialized in the excursion they know what they are doing, we noticed it while we were looking for the whale shark. It’s a local island so we experienced the real Maldives, we discovered the life there. Rifath and ripon did everything they could to satisfy us. Our vacation at the Koimala hotel was very pleasant.The staff is really friendly and always available. They help with everything and also organize excursions according to your wishes. Our room was quite big and equipped with air conditioning, small fridge and tv. The room was always cleaned well as well as other facilities in the hotel. The food in Koimala hotel is delicious and there are many options on the menu. There is no buffet, you can choose what you eat from the menu. In summary, we had everything we needed on our vacation. I can't find anything to complain about and I warmly recommend Koimala hotel.

Such an unforgettable stay!

Our first time at Maldives has been like a dream came true. We decided to stay on Maamigili island mainly because of Koimala hotel. They offer the best deals at an affordable price. All the 5 stars reviews we read before booking are truly deserved. If you want to experience real Maldives with locals this is the place. Special praise goes to the manager Rifath and the whole Team who has been GREAT and has always gone out of their way taking care of everything. We felt like at home, were always asked if we needed anything as their priority was our happiness. Their kindness and smiles won’t be forgotten. The breakfast and buffet dinners were fantastic! They have good and various choices for all type of tastes. The room we stayed in was really spacious, spotless and had all the comfort we needed. Their strength is the range of excursions offered, that goes from Snorkeling to sighting turtles, mantas, whale sharks with good chances to spot them thanks to their expertise. Those excursions include equipment and also take-away lunches, carefully cooked and packed. Maamigili is an island in development, with many grocery stores, pharmacy, atm and a bikini beach, only 10 min walking from Koimala. It has also services like an airport and multiple daily speedboats to and from the capital Malè. What we enjoyed the most was meeting other guests at the hotel and during the excursions. We will surely be back and will strongly recommend it.
